Arnica Montana is a generic term used to describe plant material derived from the dried flowers, roots, or rhizomes of the plant, Arnica montana. Arnica Montana Flower Extract is an extract of the flowerheads of this plant. Common names for A. montana include leopard's bane, mountain tobacco, mountain snuff, and wolf's bane. Arnica Montana has been used in traditional and medicine for its anti-inflammatory properties.

Arnica extract is used primarily as an anti-irritant and skin soothing agent.

Not for consumption - cosmetic use only.

Applied topically, Arnica can help speed up wound healing, as it has the potential to stimulate white blood cells and improve blood flow to the joints, muscles and joint tissue. Similarly, Arnica can help soothe insect bites by camling inflammation and increasing circulation.

In addition to being a natural anti-inflammatory, arnica also has antibacterial properties. These two benefits can team up to create a strong defense against scalp irritation and malassezia, a fungus that often triggers dandruff. To use it to promote scalp health, try adding a few drops of arnica oil to your shampoo or look for a shampoo that lists arnica as an active ingredient. You can also create a hair mask by combining arnica oil with a hydrating oil like coconut oil or jojoba oil.

In recent years, arnica's anti-inflammatory powers have been used for more cosmetic purposes like decreasing puffiness around the face. It is oftern used as an active ingredient in eye creams and in face masks like

Arnica shoul dbe first extracted into an aqueous phase containing glycerine (20%) and water (80%). This extract is then water-soluble and should be added to water phase or after the formulation is completed (o/w emulsions). In w/o emulsions extract has to go into the water phase.

 Usual concentration 0.5-5%.
