Emulsifiers
Emulsifiers are integral components in the cosmetic industry, serving a crucial role in formulating products that contain both oil and water. These substances enable the creation and stabilisation of emulsions, which are blends of immiscible liquids. Commonly used emulsifiers include surfactants such as polysorbates, sorbitan esters, and cetearyl alcohol. In cosmetic formulations like creams, lotions, and serums, emulsifiers facilitate the even dispersion of oil-based and water-based ingredients, ensuring a stable and homogenous product. Without emulsifiers, these components would tend to separate over time, leading to an undesirable and ineffective cosmetic product.
