Eucalyptus Lemon Scented Gum Essential Oil  is an aromatic oil derived from the leaves of the lemon eucalyptus tree, scientifically known as Eucalyptus citriodora. This tree is native to northeastern Australia but is also cultivated in other parts of the world, including China and Brazil. Eucalyptus Lemon Scented Gum Essential Oil is extracted from plants grown on Wiradjuri land and, from over 700 different species of Eucalyptus, there are only a few that produce essential oils that are well known for their medicinal or perfumery applications.

The essential oil is obtained through a steam distillation process, where the leaves are heated, and the resulting steam is condensed to separate the oil. Lemon eucalyptus essential oil has a distinct lemony, citrusy aroma, with a hint of woody undertones.

One of the primary components of lemon eucalyptus essential oil is citronellal, which gives it its characteristic lemon scent. Citronellal is also found in other essential oils like citronella and lemon grass. Additionally, lemon eucalyptus oil contains other compounds such as citronellol, isopulegol, and citronellyl acetate.

Lemon eucalyptus essential oil is known for its various potential benefits and uses. It is commonly used in aromatherapy for its refreshing and uplifting scent, which can help improve mood and reduce stress and anxiety. It is also used in natural cleaning products and as a natural insect repellent due to its high content of citronellal, which is effective against mosquitoes and other insects.

Lemon scented eucalyptus is rich in aldehydes. Essential oils with high aldehyde content have excellent antiseptic and antifungal properties. It is also known to have excellent insect repellent properties. It makes an excellent air purifier when used in a vaporiser. The aroma of lemon scented eucalyptus is fresh, alive and full of vitality. It creates a sense of freedom and excitement.

Blends well with : Basil, Black Pepper, Cedarwood, Clary Sage, Clove, Cypress, Frankincense, Geranium, Ginger, Juniper, Lavender, Marjoram, Orange, Peppermint, Pine, Rosemary, Sage, Thyme, Vetiver, Ylang Ylang, and the other Australian scented oils, like Kunzea, Lemon Myrtle, and Tea Tree.

When using lemon eucalyptus essential oil, it's important to dilute it properly before applying it to the skin. It can be mixed with a carrier oil, such as coconut oil or almond oil, in a recommended dilution ratio to prevent skin irritation. It's always a good idea to perform a patch test on a small area of skin before using any essential oil topically.
