Phenoxyethanol is a widely used preservative known for its broad-spectrum antimicrobial properties. It is effective against a wide range of microorganisms and helps to extend the shelf life of cosmetic products. Phenoxyethanol is commonly used in skincare products, hair care products, and makeup.
Ethylhexylglycerin is a skin-conditioning agent and a weak preservative. It acts as a co-preservative in the Euxyl PE 9010 system, working synergistically with phenoxyethanol to enhance its antimicrobial activity. Ethylhexylglycerin also has moisturizing properties and is often included in formulations to help improve the skin's hydration.
The Euxyl PE 9010 preservative system is designed to provide broad-spectrum preservation while maintaining product stability and safety. It is often chosen as an alternative to traditional preservatives, such as parabens, which have faced some scrutiny and consumer concerns.
