Citronella Ceylon essential oil is extracted from the Cymbopogon nardus plant, which is native to Sri Lanka. It has a fresh, lemony scent and is known for its insect-repelling properties, making it a popular choice for use in natural insect repellents. The oil is extracted through steam distillation, and its properties are influenced by the climate and soil in which the plant was grown. Citronella Ceylon essential oil has a range of therapeutic benefits, including its ability to help reduce inflammation, pain, and stress.

Citronella Ceylon essential oil is commonly used in aromatherapy to promote relaxation and to help reduce stress and anxiety. It is also used in natural cleaning products, as its antimicrobial and antifungal properties make it effective at killing bacteria and mold. When using citronella Ceylon essential oil, it is important to dilute it before applying it to the skin, as it can cause skin irritation in some individuals. It is also important to note that citronella Ceylon essential oil is not recommended for internal use. As with all essential oils, it is best to consult with a healthcare professional before using citronella Ceylon essential oil or any other essential oil as a natural remedy.

Citronella Ceylon has a similar aroma to the Java oil but with slightly less sweet and sharper top to middle notes.  The aromachemistry of both oils is similar enough to use them interchangably, however the Ceylon oil has more methyl iso eugenol which is a pyrethrum synergist - enhancing pyrethrum's properties.

Citronella Ceylon blends well with :  Bergamot, Cedarwood, Clary Sage, Eucalyptus, Geranium, Lavender, Lemon, Orange, Peppermint, Pine, Rosemary and Tea Tree.
