Apricot Kernel Oil (Prunus Armeniaca) is a highly nutritious and therapeutic oil pressed from the kernels of the apricot, commonly referred to as the Armenium Plum. Apricot Kernel Carrier Oil (Refined), also known as Apricot Kernel Oil, is rich in essential fatty acids even more so than other carrier oils. It is often likened to Almond Sweet Oil, both in its luxurious finish and nourishing properties.

The anti-inflammatory properties make it a great remedy for reducing signs of eczema and psoriasis, while the Vitamin K content within this carrier oil has been seen to reduce the appearance of dark circles, particularly around the eyes. Apricot Kernel oil is very similar to Almond oil in its lightness of texture, however it contains a higher concentration of  linoleic acid, making up 34% of the oil.

Apricot Kernal oil can help prevent trans-epidermal water loss and assists in retaining water on the skin. Topical use creates an occlusive barrier in the skin, which can still be visible 2-3 days after application. Given its high percentages of Oleic (58%) and Linoleic (34%) acids, almond oil can penetrates the skin at a moderate rate, and can be beneficial as a skin lubricant and emoillient.

Apricot Kernel OIl is excellent for dry and mature skins, due to its emoillient and nourishing properties. Apricot oil helps to improve skin tone, maintain softness and radiance of the skin. It also nourishes the skin and lowers the appearance of face wrinkles, fine lines and blemishes. It is all-purpose, non-irritable and its low odour makes it perfect for a massage oil.

Apricot Kernel oil is insoluble in water and alchohol, but soluble in other oils. It should be added to the formula as is, in the fat phase of the formulation, and can be used at 1-100%, as it can be used neat in massage oils. Both refined and virgin apricot kernel oil oil can be used in formulating. Apricot Kernel oil is an excellent base for facial oils and massage oils, as it can be used directly on the skin

Apricot Kernel Oil is stable when kept in a closed container, protected from light, at a cool & dry place.
