Equipment:

  • Sterilisation equipment
  • Beakers
  • Double boiler or microwave
  • Mixing utensils
  • Mortar and pestle
  • Soap mold or desired container

Instructions:

  1. Sterilise your equipment: Properly sterilise all equipment and containers to ensure a clean and safe working environment. This step is crucial to prevent contamination of your skincare product. If you need a reminder on sterilisation methods, refer to the sterilisation blog in our "Resources" area of the website.

  2. Weigh the surfactants: In a beaker, carefully weigh the required amounts of Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate and Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate. Be cautious not to inhale the surfactants, as they can be irritating to the respiratory system.

  3. Melt the Shea Butter: Using a double boiler or microwave with short bursts of heat, gently melt the Shea Butter until it becomes a liquid. Stir it to ensure even melting. Be cautious not to overheat, as this can affect the properties of the Shea Butter.

  4. Prepare the liquid mixture: In a separate beaker, combine the Distilled Water, Propanediol, melted Shea Butter, and Vitamin E Acetate. Stir the mixture thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.

  5. Blend and add extras: Transfer the liquid mixture into a mortar and pestle. Here, you can further blend and emulsify the ingredients for a smooth consistency. Add the Rice Starch and your chosen fragrance to the mixture. Continue blending until the fragrance is evenly distributed.

  6. Transfer to a mold: Carefully pour the prepared mixture into a soap mold or container of your choice. Press it firmly to ensure it takes the desired shape. Allow the product to sit undisturbed for 24 hours. This time allows the product to set and solidify.

  7. Final product: After 24 hours, your shampoo bar should be fully set and ready for use. Carefully remove it from the mold or container, and it's ready to be incorporated into your skincare routine.

Remember to label your product with its contents and usage instructions for future reference. Enjoy using your homemade skincare product!
