METHOD:
1. Sterilise Equipment: Before starting, ensure that all equipment (beakers, stirrers, bottles, droppers) are thoroughly cleaned and sterilised. You can sterilise equipment by boiling them in water for 10-15 minutes or using a sterilising solution as per the manufacturer's instructions. Allow the equipment to air dry in a clean environment.
2. Prepare Base Solution: In a clean, sterilised beaker, combine distilled water and glycerin. Stir until fully mixed.
3. Dissolve L-Ascorbic Acid: Slowly sprinkle L-ascorbic acid into the water-glycerin mixture while stirring continuously until completely dissolved.
4. Add Remaining Ingredients: Add hyaluronic acid, ferulic acid, and vitamin E to the mixture. Stir well to ensure even distribution.
5. Adjust pH: Check the pH of the mixture. Adjust the pH to around 3.5 - 4 using the pH adjuster (triethanolamine or sodium hydroxide). Add the pH adjuster slowly while monitoring the pH until the desired range is achieved.
6. Add Preservative: Once the desired pH is reached, add the preservative and mix thoroughly.
7. Transfer to Sterilised Container: Transfer the serum into a clean, sterilised bottle or dropper.
8. Label the Bottle: Label the bottle with the product name, date of formulation, and ingredients list.
9. Store Properly: Store the serum in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight to preserve its stability and efficacy.
